January 25 (Renewables Now) - In the last two weeks power purchase agreement (PPA) announcements came mainly from Europe, including one huge deal for up to 300 MW in Italy, but also from new locations like Taiwan and Egypt. We start with the most recent ones.

-- Data centre operator buying 80 MW of solar for Facebook

A partner of social media giant Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) will purchase 80 MW of solar power for leased data centres from a photovoltaic (PV) park that will be constructed in North Carolina.

US search engine major Google LLC has sealed a long-term solar PPA in Taiwan that is tied to a 10-MW photovoltaic (PV) project in Tainan City.

German energy company Innogy SE (ETR:IGY) has entered into a two-year deal that calls for the supply of hydropower in France to local renewable energy trader BCM Energy SAS.

-- Cement maker ACC, SolarizEgypt unveil USD-5.6m solar project

Arabian Cement Company (ACC) has joined hands with SolarizEgypt on a EGP-100-million (USD 5.6m/EUR 4.9m) solar project that will be built at the Egyptian cement producer’s factory in Suez governorate. ACC will buy the output of the plant directly through a PPA.

Danish wind and solar developer European Energy A/S has signed a PPA with Swiss utility Axpo for the output of up to 300 MW of solar power capacity in Italy. The long-term framework deal will see Axpo buy solar-generated electricity for over 12 years, European Energy said on Tuesday.
