Scatec’s Rio Urucuia solar farm in Brazil enters commercial operations

Norwegian renewable power producer Scatec ASA (OSL:SCATC) has announced the start of commercial operations at its 142-MW Rio Urucuia solar plant in Brazil, which is expected to generate around 321 GWh of clean electricity annually.

Engie wins contract to build, operate over 400km of power lines in Peru

Engie Energia Peru, a unit of French utility group Engie SA (EPA:ENGI), said on Wednesday it had won a contract to develop and operate four electricity transmission projects with a total investment of USD 230.8 million (EUR 201.6m) under a public-private partnership programme.

Chile raises renewables share to 47.3% in April

Chile generated 47.3% of its electricity from renewables across its largest grid in April, compared to 46.7% in March, while their combined production fell from one month to the next, Chilean energy commission CNE said in its latest, and belated, report on non-conventional renewables.
