-- Brazil's CADE okays wind park sale to CPPIB, Votorantim

Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) has approved the acquisition of the 359-MW Ventos do Araripe III wind complex by local firm Votorantim Geracao de Energia SA and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).

-- EnBW acquires German energy storage group SENEC

German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (ETR:EBK) said it has taken over domestic battery storage maker Deutsche Energieversorgung GmbH, better known as SENEC.

-- Engie to buy US solar installer SoCore Energy

The North American subsidiary of France’s Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) said it has inked a deal to take over US commercial, industrial and distributed solar company SoCore Energy.

-- Italy’s A2A buys 15.7 MW of Impax solar parks

Italian utility A2A SpA (BIT:A2A) has purchased a portfolio of 15.7 MW of solar parks at home, lifting its installed photovoltaic (PV) power capacity to 54.1 MW.

-- Green Street Power buys SunPower PV projects in New York

US solar firm SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR) has offloaded a portfolio of community photovoltaic (PV) projects in New York to domestic solar plant operator Green Street Power Partners LLC (GSPP) for an undisclosed amount.

-- Statoil, Polenergia to co-develop 1.2 GW of Polish offshore wind

Norwegian oil and gas group Statoil (STO:STLO) announced it has inked a deal to buy a 50% interest in two early-stage offshore wind projects in Polish waters with a combined planned capacity of 1.2 GW.

-- China's Add New Energy to form solar thermal JV

Add New Energy Investment Holdings Group Limited (HKG:2623) said it has agreed to form a joint venture (JV) in solar thermal technology industrialisation.

-- Dandelion buys geothermal software firm Geo-Connections

US home geothermal systems provider Dandelion announced that it has taken over Geo-Connections, a software as a service (SaaS) company that is active in the geothermal industry.

-- The Andersons, ICM team up to build biorefinery in Kansas via new JV

The Andersons Inc (NASDAQ:ANDE) and ICM Inc have formed a joint venture that will build and operate an ethanol plant in Kansas, the two US companies announced in separate statements.

-- Greencoat UK Wind makes GBP-163m acquisition

Greencoat UK Wind plc (LON:UKW) said it has bought for some GBP 163 million a “brand new, good sized, very high load factor wind farm” with a capacity of 47.5 MW in Northern Ireland.

-- EBRD mulls USD-100m investment in META renewables developer

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is considering making an equity investment of up to USD 100 million in Alcazar Energy Partners, a Dubai-based company focused on renewable energy development and generation in the META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa) region.

-- PetersenDean buys Hawaii PV and battery installer Haleakala Solar

PetersenDean Roofing & Solar announced it has just acquired Hawaii-based solar photovoltaics (PVs) and batteries installer Haleakala Solar for an undisclosed sum.

-- Indian solar attracts USD 10bn in 2017 funding - Mercom

Corporate and project funding deals in the Indian solar sector totalled USD 10 billion last year, rising from USD 4 billion a year before.

-- UniCredit seeks buyer for 400-MW German offshore wind park - report

A unit of Italian lender UniCredit SpA (BIT:UCG) is putting up for sale 100% of the 400-MW Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the German portion of the North Sea, two informed sources told Bloomberg.

-- Engie closes purchase of majority in French energy storage firm EPS

French utility Engie (EPA:ENGI) has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in domestic energy storage solutions and microgrids provider Electro Power Systems SA (EPA:EPS), or EPS.

-- RWE to create green utility via major asset swap deal with E.on

German energy company RWE AG (ETR:RWE) said it would sell its majority stake in Innogy SE (ETR:IGY) to sector player E.on SE (ETR:EOAN), but it will get the renewables businesses of both firms to create “a leading European utility for renewables and security of supply”.

-- Algonquin snaps up 25% of Atlantica Yield

Canadian renewable energy company Algonquin Power & Utilities (TSX:AQN) has closed the acquisition of a 25% stake in Atlantica Yield Plc (NASDAQ:AY), becoming the largest shareholder of the yieldco.
