Chinese solar inverter maker Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SHE:300274) announced on Monday it will supply 580 MW of inverters to France’s Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) for solar projects in northeastern Brazil.
The deal includes the delivery of 70 units of Sungrow’s SG3125HV central inverter solution for the 320-MW Serra do Mel 1 and 2, as well as 608 of its SG350HX inverters for the 260-MW Serra do Mel 3, 4,5 and 6 facilities which are currently under construction.
Located in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte, the photovoltaic (PV) parks are part of the 2.4-GW Serra Branca wind and solar cluster. In the first half of 2022, Voltalia started the construction of Serra do Mel 3-6, as well as the gradual commissioning of Serra do Mel 1 and 2.
According to the Chinese manufacturer, 80% of the Serra Branca cluster complex is now in operation or under construction.
