Egypt's Elsewedy secures USD 150m for solar projects
Jun 30, 2022 15:45 CESTJune 25 (Renewables Now) - UK lightweight solar panel manufacturer Verditek Plc (LON:VDTK) earlier in the week announced the first contract to supply its panels in the oil and gas sector with Pakistan-based trading and construction company SAF Group.
SAF will use the solar panels to power the construction camp at Shikarpur Compressor Station in Pakistan, where SAF partners with Solar Turbines Inc, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) that makes industrial gas turbines.
"We are excited to evaluate Verditek's new flexible, lightweight solution, which could lead to a much wider utilisation across all our remote gas transmission sites and other industrial applications within our group," SAF's managing director Ali Salman commented.
Verditek is to begin manufacturing the panels this week and expects to deliver the equipment at the beginning of August.
