Uruguay's government-owned power company has announced the start of construction of its 100-MWp Melo solar farm in the department of Cerro Largo, which is set to become the largest facility of its kind in a country that already <a href="https://renewablesnow.com/news/uruguays-power-generation-99-percent-renewable-in-2024-preliminary-data-1274551/" target="_blank">generates nearly all of its electricity</a> from renewable sources.
