Canadian Solar to buy back USD 150m in shares
Dec 10, 2019 8:58 CESTMarch 26 (Renewables Now) – GameChange Solar, the US-based solar racking manufacturer that recently announced plans for a global expansion, has established a supply chain in China in order to serve the Latin America markets, an official told Renewables Now.
The price point for the company’s Genius Tracker delivered to site in Latin America will often be less than USD 0.10 (EUR 0.089) per watt for large utility-scale projects, GameChange Solar director Max Johnson said. He noted that the overseas supply chain only concerns international projects and that the company will continue to manufacture locally in the US for US projects.
Eventually, GameChange Solar will consider establishing a supply chain in Mexico to be prepared if tariffs are reinstated there.
As previously announced, Latin America is the initial focus for the company but it will also look to launch in select European and Central American markets, as well as in Australia. Initial penetration there is expected this year, with "meaningful market share development" commencing in 2020.
