December 5 (Renewables Now) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is considering providing a loan of USD 52 million (EUR 59m) for 15 solar projects in the Argentine province of Jujuy totalling 95 MW.
Project information released on EIB’s website reveal that the total cost of the scheme, which is part of the "Jujuy Verde" initiative, amounts to USD 104 million.
Late last month, Argentina's Jujuy government said in a statement it has signed a letter of intent with the French Development Agency (AFD) and EIB in connection with the financing of 95 MW of distributed solar projects. That statement, however, mentioned 13 solar photovoltaic (PV) developments.
The project has been under appraisal by the European bank since November 20.
