Two AES solar power facilities suffer hurricane damage

Three power plants, including two solar facilities, of AES Corp (NYSE:AES) in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands have suffered some damage after hurricanes Irma and Maria, the US power group said on Monday.
The hurricanes have caused modest damage to its 24-MW Illumina solar plant in Puerto Rico, while the 5-MW USVI Solar I solar plant in the US Virgin Islands has been materially damaged.
There has also been minor damage to the 524-MW AES Puerto Rico coal-fired plant. AES expects the hurricanes to affect its 2017 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) by USD 0.03 (EUR 0.025) to USD 0.05 and consequently it now forecasts adjusted EPS to be in the lower half of the USD 1.00-1.10 range.
