Tritec Intervento builds 496 kW PV roof system in Chile
Nov 29, 2013 - Swiss solar company Tritec Thursday said its Chilean unit, Tritec Intervento SpA, has completed a rooftop solar power plant with a capacity of 496 kW, installed on the roofs of a shopping centre in the capital Santiago.
The PV system will generate 1,131 MWh of power per year which will be used for the Mall Plaza Calama shopping centre's own consumption.
The plant covers a rooftop area of 3,500 square metres (37,670 sq ft) on the buildings of the centre. The project consists of more than 2,000 polycrystalline solar modules with a capacity of 245 W each.
The solar plant is Chile's largest rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system. Tritec Intervento has completed 10 other solar power projects in Chile so far.
