Spanish electrical equipment specialist Ingeteam SA today said it will supply technology for the 246.6-MW El Romero photovoltaic (PV) plant in Chile.
The company will provide the control, protection and measurement system for the plant's booster substation.
Ingeteam has been awarded the contract by Spain's Acciona Energia, which is building the solar park, said to be the largest in Latin America. The plant has a rated capacity of 196 MW and supplies its power to the grid via a 220/33kV substation, Ingeteam said.
According to the announcement, Ingeteam has so far installed protection, control and measurement systems at more than 500 MW of renewable energy projects in Chile.
