September 12 (Renewables Now) - US microinverters maker Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ:ENPH) has expanded its manufacturing partnership with supply-chain company Flex Ltd (NASDAQ:FLEX) to Mexico in a move to mitigate the effect of US tariffs on Chinese products.

Under the expanded agreement, which now includes Flex's facilities in Mexico, Flex will start supplying Enphase products made in Mexico to the US market from the second quarter of next year. The microinverter maker said today that this is part of a mitigation plan for the impending Section 301 tariff in the US.

In August, Enphase wrapped up the acquisition of the microinverter business of SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR) for USD 25 million (EUR 22m) in cash and 7.5 million common shares.
