March 21 (Renewables Now) - The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is accepting submissions by May under its request for proposals (RfP) in the tender for 200 MW of concentrated solar power (CSP) capacity.

The project is part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which will have 5 GW of capacity by 2030, including 1 GW of CSP. DEWA issued the RfP on January 15, after receiving 30 expressions of interest (EOI) in an earlier call.

The 200-MW CSP plant is to be operational by April 2021.

Dubai aims at a clean energy share in power of 7% by 2020, 25% by 2030, and 75% by 2050.
