to-the-point: Chile clears new transmission plan for 193-MW PV park
Chile's environmental authority for Antofagasta region on Tuesday allowed Eosol New Energy SA to redesign the transmission facilities of its 192.6-MW Tocopilla photovoltaic (PV) project.
The solar park will supply the grid through the Encuentro substation instead of through Crucero, as initially planned, and the length of its adjacent transmission line will be extended to 3.4 km (2.1 miles) from the original 1.4 km.
The company plans to invest USD 1.7 million (EUR 1.6m) in the transmission installations as of July 2016.
