Bahia intends to partner with German Fraunhofer Institute for the implementation of a solar energy centre, the state governor, Rui Costa, said.
Rui Costa, who yesterday ended a visit in Germany, said he was very willing to establish a Bahia-located centre dedicated to solar energy production along with laboratories for certification for solar panels inverters, Brazilian media reports.
The Fraunhofer Institute, located in Freiburg city, is dedicated to high-tech research in the generation, distribution and storage of solar energy.
Governor Costa also noted in the government press release that in the next month, Bahia will hold a meeting of major energy consumers located in the state with investors and manufacturers of solar and wind equipment from Germany.
