Spain's Grenergy opens 37-MWp solar farm complex in Colombia

Spanish renewables company Grenergy Renovables SL (BME:GRE) on Friday inaugurated a 30-MW/37-MWp solar power complex in the department of Tolima, central-west Colombia.

It said it had invested some EUR 28 million (USD 30.1m) in the project.

The complex is made up of three solar farms -- Cerritos, La Medina and Los Caballeros -- each of 9.9 MW. Together, the plants will generate around 69 GWh of electricity per year.

To monetise the assets, Grenergy said it had signed a long-term off-take agreement with Colombian power company Celsia.

The Spanish renewables developer says it operates 72 MW of solar farms in Colombia and has more than 1 GW of projects in development.
