Sowitec seeks permit for 14-MWp solar plant in Chile
Nov 21, 2014 - Sowitec Operation Ltda, part of German wind farm developer Sowitec, has filed an environmental impact declaration in Chile for construction of a 13.78-MWp photovoltaic plant in Vallenar, Atacama region.
The Domeyko Solar plant will comprise 45,920 polycrystalline solar modules connected to the Dos Amigos substation within the SIC power system, according to the plan, published on Tuesday.
The company plans to invest USD 23.5 million (EUR 18.9m) in the project, which will be developed on state-owned land awarded by the government. Construction is expected to start at the beginning of 2017 and take eight months.
