Sonnedix buys 8.6-MW solar project in Chile

January 18 (Renewables Now) - Independent solar power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said on Monday it has finalised the acquisition of an 8.6-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Chile.

The sellers in this deal are Spanish Grupo Tec Servicios Avanzados SA and UK solar developer Luminous Energy Ltd.

Sonnedix was handed ownership of a ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Ovalle, IV region of Coquimbo. The Santa Lucia scheme is in a well-advanced stage of development and is scheduled to break ground in May 2022, the IPP said.

At present, Sonnedix's Chilean portfolio consists of nearly 300 MW in operation, 170 MW under construction and more than 950 MW in various stages of development.
