Rise Light & Power proposes 3.9-GW offshore wind interconnection in NYC
Aug 17, 2022 17:23 CESTJuly 27 (Renewables Now) - US mechanical and electrical products maker Advanced Industries Inc. is planning to build a factory for the production of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in southern Oman with an annual capacity of 200 MW.
The manufacturer has signed an agreement with the Salalah Free Zone where the production site will be established, Oman's state-owned news agency ONA said on Wednesday.
The factory, to be located on an area of 10,000 sq m (11,960 sq yd), will require an investment of OMR 29 million (USD 75.42m/EUR 74.33m).
The construction of a manufacturing site for solar panels in the Salalah Free Zone is of strategic importance because of its proximity to the port of Salalah and the availability of logistical and infrastructure services in the free zone.
The project is expected to spur investment in the solar energy manufacturing industry and diversify industrial investments in the Salalah Free Zone.
