Solamon launches Mexican solar projects partnership
Aug 31, 2012 - Canada-based renewable energy technologies firm Solamon Energy Corp (FRA:SSL) said Thursday it had formed a partnership with a Mexican private consortium to jointly develop solar energy projects.
The joint company Omniba Energy Mexico will focus on the acquisition and management of contracts to supply solar farms in Mexico with Solamon’s ground-mounted solar arrays as well as with custom solutions such as roof-mounted and parking lot systems that can be combined with micro wind turbines or other renewable energy features.
Solamon’s president Jay Yeo will be inaugural president of Omniba, while senior vice-president Michael Mitchell will be a member of the new company’s board of directors.
Yeo said that Solamon would soon start looking for office space in Mexico City as the number of projects it would be involved in was expected to jump in 2013.
