Sep 6, 2013 - French solar power producer Solairedirect has put in operation its first photovoltaic park in Chile, of 1.26 MW, built in Andacollo municipality to supply a local gold mine of Minera Dayton.
The plant, installed on 1.9 ha (4.7 acres), supports the stability in power supply for using a local energy source, Nicolas Sadon, development manager at Solairedirect, said.
The plant will be a model for new solar parks to be developed by Solairedirect in Chile, with a combined capacity of over 300 MW. In the last two months, the company requested environmental permits for two plants of 50 MW and 90 MW in Atacama and Antofagasta regions, respectively.
