South Korea’s Samsung C&T Corp (KRX:028260) will join Australian green hydrogen producer Infinite Green Energy (IGE) in a project to produce up to 300 tonnes of green hydrogen daily in Western Australia.
The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and build the Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant, IGE said on Wednesday.

To be located 30 km (18.6 miles) south of Dongara, the complex will produce around 100,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, using electricity from wind and solar power plants. Under the plan, the output will be used both for local consumption and export to international markets.
Commercial-scale production is expected to be launched in 2028. When it initially unveiled the project, IGE said its first two stages will involve the installation of 235 MW of wind and solar power capacity that will enable the daily production of 23 tonnes and 42 tonnes of hydrogen, respectively.
The partnership between IGE and Samsung C&T adds to an existing collaboration between the two companies. In February, a unit of the South Korean group joined forces with IGE to execute its 10-MW MEG HP1 green hydrogen project near Northam, in Western Australia.
