Capital Energy signs PPA with Leon, Spain-based ADL BioPharma
September 29 - Spanish renewables developer and power retailer Capital Energy has signed a PPA with Leon, Spain-based biotechnology company ADL BioPharma.
Nokian Tyres strikes wind PPA with Finland's Gasum
September 28 - Finnish state-owned energy company Gasum Oy will supply locally produced wind electricity to tire maker Nokian Tyres under a 10-year contract.
Toyota signs 80-MW VPPA for Clearway solar project in Mississippi
September 24 - The North American arm of Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor Corp (TYO:7203) has signed a virtual PPA (VPPA) to offtake most of the output of a 100-MW solar project in DeSoto county, Mississippi.
HSBC inks 12.6-MW Scottish wind PPA with Capital Dynamics
September 24 - British HSBC Bank plc (LSE:HSBA) has committed to buying electricity from a 12.6-MW wind farm that Swiss private asset and renewable energy investment manager Capital Dynamics will build in Scotland.
Goodyear to procure 100% renewable energy to Slovenian plant
September 24 - US-based multinational tire manufacturer Goodyear plans to start procuring 100% renewable energy to its plant in Kranj, Slovenia.
DuPont seals 135-MW wind VPPA in Texas
September 23 - US technology-based materials company DuPont de Nemours Inc (NYSE:DD) has contracted 135 MW of wind power generating capacity from a wind park that will be built in Texas.
Windstream turns to Engie for power from 200-MW wind park in Texas
September 23 - US communications and software company Windstream will buy power and renewable energy credits from a 200-MW wind farm in Texas owned by a unit of Engie North America.
MEGlobal inks renewable power supply deal with Calpine
September 22 - US chemical products maker MEGlobal Americas Inc will procure 100% renewable electricity for a production site in Texas under a deal with retail energy provider Calpine Energy Solutions LLC.
Spanish bank Abanca inks PPA to support local wind development
September 20 - Spanish lender Abanca Corporacion Bancaria SA has secured wind energy for its operations in Spain and Portugal under a ten-year PPA with domestic electric utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE).
Ørsted bags corporate PPA for 100 MW from Borkum Riffgrund 3
September 20 - Denmark’s Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) said today that it has struck a ten-year PPA with German retail and tourism company REWE Group to deliver 100 MW of electricity from its future Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind farm complex in the North Sea.
Brazilian food co BRF signs deal for 320-MWp solar development
September 17 - Brazilian food company BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) has partnered up with local firm Intrepid Participacoes SA for the construction of a 320-MWp solar farm in Ceara state. They have signed a 15-year PPA.
Energix inks PPA for 13 MW of solar with Johns Hopkins Health System
September 16 - A US subsidiary of Israeli company Energix Renewable Energies Ltd (TLV:ENRG) yesterday said it has signed a PPA for 13 MW of solar power with non-profit organisation The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation.
EDPR bags 127.5-MW wind, solar PPA with Procter & Gamble in Spain
September 16 - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) has signed a PPA with US consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble Co (NYSE:PG) to deliver 127.5 MW of new green capacity in Spain.
Apparel retailer Lululemon seals 15-MW wind VPPA with Enel
September 16 - Canadian apparel retailer Lululemon Athletica Inc (NASDAQ:LULU) will procure power from a 15-MW portion of Enel Green Power North America’s Azure Sky wind farm in Texas.
Tata Motors seals solar PPA to supply Indian car plant
September 14 - Indian carmaker Tata Motors Ltd (BOM:500570) has entered into a PPA with Tata Power Co Ltd (BOM:500400) for the output of a 3-MWp solar array that will be installed on the rooftop of a factory in the state of Maharashtra.
JPMorgan, Liberty seal PPA for 108-MW wind project in Illinois
September 13 - A unit of Canadian renewable energy company Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp (TSX:AQN) has signed a power off-take deal with US investment bank JP Morgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) for 70% of the output of a 108-MW wind farm in Illinois.
Boliden to back Norwegian smelting ops with power from Statkraft
September 13 - Swedish mining and smelting company Boliden AB (STO:BOL) has signed a contract to procure 1.6 TWh of power annually from Norwegian renewable energy producer Statkraft AS to support the enhanced electricity requirements of its smelter in Odda, Norway.
Borealis to buy wind power from Axpo for Belgian ops
September 8 - Austrian chemicals and fertilisers producer Borealis will be buying green electricity over a period of nine years from Swiss renewables producer and marketer Axpo Holding AG.
UPDATE - Mitsubishi, Amazon confirm signing of 22-MW solar PPA in Japan
September 8 - Japanese trading house Mitsubishi Corp (TYO:8058) confirmed on Wednesday that it has signed a 10-year corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) in Japan with Amazon Web Services Inc (AWS), a unit of US online retailer Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN).
