July 29 (Renewables Now) - The past two weeks brought news of power purchase agreement (PPA) signings mainly in Europe, but also in North America, Australia, Argentina and Vietnam. Our overview also includes some tender updates. We start with the most recent stories.

-- WFEC, NextEra sign 700-MW PPA for Oklahoma wind-PV-battery project

Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC) will be the off-taker of all power from what is touted as the US’ largest co-located wind, solar and energy storage complex –- a 700-MW scheme in Oklahoma by NextEra Energy Resources LLC. Read more..

-- Axpo signs PPA for 1.5-MW subsidy-free PV plant in Germany

Germany-based electricity retailer Axpo Deutschland has signed a five-year PPA to buy the output of a 1.5-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm constructed in southern Bavaria. Read more..

-- Axpo Iberia inks solar PPA with BlackRock, Exus

Madrid-based electricity retailer Axpo Iberia SL has signed an 8-year PPA to buy power from a 24-MWp solar park planned for construction in Portugal. The PPA was arranged with Exus Management Partners and а division of BlackRock Inc (NYSE:BLK). Read more..

-- Canadian Solar finds off-taker for 23-MW PV project in Alberta

Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has secured an off-taker for the output of the 32-MWp/23-MW Suffield solar project in Southeast Alberta, Canada. It has signed a long-term agreement with Direct Energy, a North American electricity retailer and a subsidiary of UK’s Centrica Plc (LON:CNA). Read more..

-- Luxcara inks PPA with Alpiq for 121 MWp of solar in Seville

German renewables investor and asset manager Luxcara GmbH has reached a long-term PPA for the output of the 121-MWp Guillena-Salteras solar PV project it is building in Spain. The off-taker is European energy trader Alpiq, of Switzerland’s Alpiq Holdings AG (SWX:ALPH). Read more..

-- Kellogg's inks off-take deal with 87-MW Aussie solar park

Cereals manufacturer Kellogg Australia, also known as Kellog’s, will buy electricity from the 87-MW Beryl solar park in New South Wales after committing to meet all of its power requirements from renewable energy sources. The binding agreement will run through December 31, 2026. Read more..

-- Bristol Energy inks PPA with Thrive for 3.55 MW of wind turbines

Bristol Energy has purchased the output of two onshore wind turbines of 3.55 MW combined in the UK under an off-take contract with Thrive Renewables plc. Read more.. 

-- YPF Luz to supply wind power to Holcim Argentina cement factories

Argentine power producer YPF Luz has signed an agreement to supply renewable power from the Los Teros wind farm to cement factories belonging to Holcim Argentina SA (BCBA:HARG). Read more..

-- Cemig to hold auction for wind, solar power contracts in Sept

Brazilian utility Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais SA (BVMF:CMIG4), better known as Cemig, plans to hold an energy auction on September 13, 2019 to contract wind and solar power. Read more..

-- Scatec Solar makes USD-0.0244/kWh bid in Tunisia tender

In a tender in Tunisia, Oslo-based Scatec Solar ASA (OSL:SSO) has made a bid of USD 0.0244 per kWh, a record low for all of Africa, targeting 200 MW of solar power capacity. Read more..

-- Gulf Energy inks PPA for 30 MW of offshore wind in Vietnam

Thai power producer Gulf Energy Development PCL (BKK:GULF) has struck a PPA for the 30-MW first phase of a 310-MW offshore wind project in southern Vietnam. The term of the contract with Vietnam Electricity is 20 years. Read more..

-- Equinor, Ørsted triumph in 1.7-GW New York offshore wind solicitation

The 880-MW Sunrise Wind and the 816-MW Empire Wind projects were selected as preferred bidders in New York’s maiden offshore wind competition, securing the right to negotiate offshore wind renewable energy certificates (ORECs) for a period of 25 years. Read more..

Australia’s Capella Capital Pty Ltd has secured a contract from the country’s Department of Defence (DoD) to build 14 MW of solar arrays at two military bases in the Northern Territory. Read more..

-- Aventron, Statkraft sign PPA for 50-MWp solar park in Spain

Swiss green power producer Aventron AG has found an off-taker for the output of the 50-MWp Bargas subsidy-free solar park it will soon start building in Toledo, Spain. A five-year PPA has been signed with Statkraft AS for a total of 330 GWh of electricity. Read more..

-- Eneco inks PPA for 383-MW nearshore Dutch wind farm

Dutch utility Eneco unveiled a 15-year PPA for the entire output of the 382.7-MW Fryslan nearshore wind park that is being built in Friesland, the Netherlands. Read more..
