Brazilian power utility Companhia Paranaense de Energia (BVMF:CPLE6), better known as Copel, plans to hold three energy auctions this year, to contract wind and solar power. The company will award PPAs with terms of 12 and 14 years. Read more..

The City of London Corporation is looking for a supplier of up to 55 GWh of renewable power a year under an off-site PPA. The contract will be worth GBP 30.4m (USD 39.7m/EUR 35.8m) over a term of 15 years. Read more..

-- Ormat unit in Hawaii amends geothermal PPA, to add 8 MW
Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV), owned by US-based Ormat Technologies, has agreed an amended PPA with Hawaiian Electric, which includes an 8-MW expansion to the 38-MW geothermal plant on Hawaii Island. The new contract will see the utility pay a fixed rate to PGV, instead of the current one which is linked to oil prices. Read more..
