Aug 1, 2013 - Chinese solar module maker ReneSola Ltd (NYSE:SOL) said today it had secured an order from a new Pakistani customer for microinverters, string inverters and mounting solutions.
The company did not unveil any details on the volumes or the financial terms of the supply contract. “As with our solar modules, we're confident that our inverters and mounting products will help to raise our corporate profile and drive sales in the emerging markets of South Asia,” said CEO Xianshou Li.
Pakistan is fighting with energy shortages and is resorting to load shedding. Yet, the country enjoys the highest levels of solar radiation globally and has already attracted the interest of some solar firms. In April, Fuad Hashim Rabbani, Provincial Secretary Energy in Balochistan, told reporters that CK Solar Korea had reached an agreement to build a 300-MW solar park in the country.
