Raven SR sets foot in Spain with plans for waste-to-hydrogen project
March 30 (Renewables Now) - US renewable fuels company Raven SR Inc plans to build a modular waste-to-hydrogen plant in the Spanish region of Aragon as its first European hydrogen production project.
Wyoming-based Raven SR intends to construct a facility that utilises the company’s non-combustion technology to produce 1,600 metric tonnes of green hydrogen per year from around 75 tonnes of organic solid waste per day. The plan is to complete the project next year.
The announcement, which coincides with the opening of a subsidiary in Zaragoza, comes a couple of weeks after Raven SR said it had closed a strategic investment of an undisclosed size from Samsung Ventures.
Meanwhile, the firm is getting ready to begin the construction of its first commercial waste-to-hydrogen production facility in the US.
