Pakistan's Punjab, German partner agree to develop large solar project
Oct 8, 2012 - The government of Pakistan's province of Punjab signed on Saturday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with German Solar Power Project Development Firm in Berlin for the development of a large solar power project in the province.
According to a statement, quoted by Pakistani media on Sunday, representatives of the German company will visit Punjab in November to launch the solar project.
Punjab's chief minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif invited German energy companies to invest in solar power and other power generating projects in the province to help it cope with the energy crisis. He said Punjab's government would provide support and incentives to the investors.
