US electrolyser manufacturer Ohmium International Inc on Friday announced a partnership with renewable developer Amp Energy India Pvt Ltd to install 400 MW of green hydrogen projects in India over the next three years.
The Indian arm of Canada-based Amp Energy Group will use Ohmium's electrolysers at mid-sized commercial and industrial (C&I) projects of up to 25 MW.
Pinaki Bhattacharya, managing director and chief executive of Amp Energy India, which has developed a portfolio of over 2 GW, said that the collaboration will allow the company to extend its offerings to customers and provide them with a "one stop shop" for green energy and hydrogen in India. “Green hydrogen is quickly becoming a key component in India's renewable energy growth story and several industries are being incentivized to adopt Green Hydrogen,” Bhattacharya commented.
"Green hydrogen is an incredibly flexible clean energy solution–it can work for customers at the megawatt to gigawatt scale," according to Ohmium International chief executive Arne Ballantine.
Ohmium makes modular proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers that produce pressurized high-purity hydrogen. Its manufacturing is located in India. In April, the company raised USD 45 million (EUR 46.2m) in Series B financing that it said then would support expansion of its annual manufacturing capacity from 500 MW to 2 GW by the end of 2022.
