Nine firms bid in Dubai tender for solar job on reservoir roof

Aug 7 (Renewables Now) - A total of nine companies, including an Abu Dhabi-based unit of Belectric, have made bids in a recently-closed tender concerning a photovoltaic (PV) project on the roof of a potable water reservoir in Dubai.

Information available on the website of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), which held the tender, shows that Apex Power Concepts Trading LLC, Belectric Gulf Ltd, Haji Commercial Co LLC, Ranya Contracting Establishment, Al Ghanem Trading and Contracting Co, Al Mostajed Technologies Co LLC, Power Advantage International Electromechanical Co LLC, ARJ International LLC and Dome Advanced Electromechanical Works LLC have each made at least one offer.

Haji Commercial submitted two proposals, including the lowest one of AED 5.1 million (USD 1.4m/EUR 1.2m), while Al Mostajed filed three, one of which was the highest one at AED 7.2 million.

The tender closed on August 1. The winner will need to build in a period of 12 months a solar plant on top of the Jebel Ali “L” power generation and desalination station.
