Nexans supplies cables for 187-MW solar project in Colombia
January 25 (Renewables Now) - French cable maker Nexans SA (EPA:NEX) said on Monday that it supplied its cabling systems for the 187-MW direct current (DC) La Loma solar project in Colombia.
This project is led by renewables company Enel Green Power Colombia, which recently installed the first PV panel at a site in the town of La Loma.
Nexans supplied more than 390 kilometres (242.3 miles) of low and medium-voltage cables to interconnect solar energy conversion systems, the group said. The cables were manufactured in Nexans’ factories in Colombia and Peru.
The La Loma solar farm is expected to start operations in the second half of 2022. Its production output is estimated at some 420 GWh per year.
