Located in the municipality of Santa Luzia, Paraiba state, the photovoltaic (PV) plant is set to reach full commercial operation in the second half of 2022.
The company, which operates as the Brazilian subsidiary of Spain's Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE), said that in the first six months of 2022, it allocated BRL 436.4 million (USD 82.9m/EUR 81.4m) to the solar farms that form the complex.
The solar plant has already sold 100% of its power until 2026 under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Brazilian telecom Claro SA.
Neoenergia noted that the PV facility will use the same substation as the firm's 471-MW Chafariz wind complex.
