March 14 (Renewables Now) - Germany-based real assets investment manager MPC Capital AG (ETR:MPCK) announced today it will create a joint venture in Colombia with Martifer Renewables to develop local solar and wind projects.

The pair will engage in solar power-based distributed generation (DG) projects, as well as in utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind projects throughout Colombia.

Martiffer will serve as the lead developer of the projects and will also be providing operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the assets. In turn, MPC Capital will be in charge of financial analysis, debt financing and asset management services. Both companies will dedicate staff and resources towards day-to-day operations of renewables infrastructure, according to the announcement.

Last year, MPC Capital’s renewables arm established a subsidiary in Panama and commenced work on the 51.5-MWp Paradise Park solar PV project in Jamaica.
