April 20 (Renewables Now) - The International Finance Corporation (IFC) said last week it will provide a USD-50-million (EUR 45.9m) loan to Panama's Banco General SA to back green buildings and solar energy projects.

In addition to the loan, which should be disbursed this year, IFC will also provide advisory services to Banco General to support the bank's clients in the implementation of the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) certification for green buildings.

The latest loan comes after in late 2019 IFC provided USD 150 million for mortgage lending for low and middle-income families.
