French renewables company Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) said on Tuesday that its subsidiary Helexia has started building the solar photovoltaic (PV) units that will serve a Brazilian subsidiary of Spain's Telefonica SA (BME:TEF) under a 60-MW supply deal.As part of the 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA), Helexia is building 17 PV power plants in Rondonia, Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana states, the renewable energy firm said on Tuesday.Awarded in December 2020, this PPA is the distributed generation (DG) and energy-efficiency specialist’s first in the South American country.Once up and running, the PV parks will allocate their output to telecommunication company Vivo's local facilities. Commissioning is expected to happen in the first half of 2022, Voltalia pointed out in the press release.
