Gestamp Solar Chile seeks to install 50-MW park in Atacama
Dec 13, 2013 - Gestamp Solar Chile, through Fotovoltaica Norte Grande 4 SpA, yesterday requested an environmental permit for the construction of a 50-MW solar park in Diego de Almagro municipality, in Atacama region.
The project, dubbed Guanaco Solar, will require USD 57.6 million (EUR 42m) for the installation of 235,200 photovoltaic panels. The electricity will be injected in the Chile's SIC network. The plant will be connected to the 110-kV Diego de Almagro-Llanta line, owned by copper miner Codelco, or to the Diego de Almagro substation, of grid operator Transelec.
