ESA Renewables to build 24-MW solar park in Jamaica

(SeeNews) - May 2, 2012 - US photovoltaic (PV) system developer ESA Renewables LLC said today it had executed a letter of intent to design, build, commission and monitor a 24-MW solar power plant in Paradise Park, Jamaica.

The given capacity is in direct current (DC).

ESA will also help in the permitting process and carry out all required assessments and related studies for the system. The company will operate and maintain the plant once it is up and running.

Construction of the solar park is to commence this year. Caribbean Energies Group LLC is responsible for the financing of the project and the site and materials. Once online, the plant will generate more than 33 million kWh a year, saving 17,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, ESA calculates.
