October 19 (Renewables Now ) - French renewable power plants operator Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) today posted consolidated revenues of EUR 50.5 million (USD 59.5m) for the third quarter of 2017, up from EUR 33.5 million in the corresponding period last year.
Energy sales accounted for EUR 41.9 million of the total, surging 73.3% year-on-year, mainly thanks to developments in Brazil.

In August, Voltalia also announced that two solar projects with a total capacity of 8 MW were selected as part of the CRE IV tender. The two projects should come on stream no later than July 2019 and will benefit from the new contract for difference scheme for 20 years from the date of commissioning.
The operation & maintenance (O&M) business also recorded a 68.6% growth on the year but the services business, encompassing development, construction and procurement posted revenues of 5.6 million, down 31% on the figure achieved in the third quarter of 2016.
"The new French construction sites did not yet generate any income during the quarter; they will start contributing to the revenues from Q4 2017", Voltalia noted in a statement.
Over the first nine months of the year, Voltalia recorded a revenue of EUR 126.6 million, compared with 79.6 million a year back.
The French company had 417.3 MW of wind farms in Brazil and 42.2 in France as well as solar, biomass and hydro power assets which round up the total of renewable energy capacity operated for its own account to 500.5 MW at the end of September in 2017.
