Enel to build 54.4 MWp of DG solar arrays for Brazil's Itau bank
Aug 18, 2022 8:35 CESTAugust 17 (Renewables Now) - The Colombian unit of Italian energy major Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) will build and and operate 37.3 MWp of solar capacity at the headquarters of eight Colombian companies.
A group of large energy consumers, coordinated by Colombian electricity expert Cosenit SA and including retailer Grupo Exito, also know as Almacenes Exito SA (BVC:EXITO), selected Enel-Codensa for the job following a bidding process launched in 2019.

With an investment of around EUR 27 million (USD 31.7m), the company will put in place 82,700 solar panels across 13 photovoltaic (PV) systems. Completion is expected in 2021 and 2022, with an initial operation contract term of 12 years, Enel-Codensa said in the press release.
Colombia is targeting a reduction of 11.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) by 2030 and planning to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050.
