Enel seeks buyers for 540 MW of renewables in Brazil - report

July 6 (Renewables Now) - Italian energy group Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) is looking to sell Brazilian renewable energy assets with a combined capacity of 540 MW, according to sources cited by local newspaper Valor Economico.

The report says that Enel has mandated Rothschild & Co to find buyers for a couple of solar parks totalling 450 MW and a 90-MW wind farm in the states of Bahia and Piaui. The process to sell the assets was initiated in recent days, Valor said.

Last month, Enel acquired a 73.4% stake in Brazilian power distributor Eletropaulo (BVMF:ELPL3) in a BRL-5.55-billion (USD 1.41bn/EUR 1.21bn) transaction.
