Enel Green Power Peru to study solar, wind projects in Tacna, Ica, Arequipa

(SeeNews) - Jan 31, 2014 - Peru's energy and mines ministry yesterday authorised the local unit of Italy's Enel Green Power (BIT:EGPW) to carry out feasibility studies on four solar and wind projects in the southern Tacna, Ica and Arequipa regions.

In Tacna, the company will study the possible construction of two solar plants, named Tomasiri and Layagache, with an estimated capacity of 40 MW each.

Additionally, Enel Green Power Peru will evaluate a 100-MW wind farm project in Santiago district, in Ica region, and a similar project on the border between Ica and Arequipa.

The studies will be carried out within the next 24 months.
