Eletrosul postpones call for bids for solarimetric stations
Jul 2, 2013 - Eletrosul, a subsidiary of Brazil's state-owned power holding company Eletrobras (SAO:ELET6), yesterday announced its decision to postpone its call for bids for the acquisition and installation of four solarimetric stations.
The auction, initially scheduled for July 1, has been postponed for July 16.
The stations are aimed at studying the financial and technical feasibility of large-scale thermo solar generation in Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul states. The facilities will be installed near operating projects of Eletrosul such as the Passo Sao Joao and Sao Domingos hydro plants. With this initiative, Eletrosul becomes one of the first companies in Brazil to invest in thermo solar generation.
