Eletrosul launches international tender for solar energy project
Aug 25, 2011 - Eletrosul, a subsidiary of Brazil's state-owned power holding company Eletrobras (SAO:ELET6), yesterday released the bid notice of an international tender for the hiring of a company or a consortium to install the largest Brazilian solar power generation plant.
The photovoltaic panels of the unit, called the Megawatt Solar, will be installed on the roof of the company's headquarters and the parking lot in Florianopolis, southern Santa Catarina state. The plant will be able to generate one megawatt peak (Mwp) and will be connected to the local electricity grid.
The project is budgeted at BRL 10.8 million (USD 6.72m/EUR 4.66m) and counts with financing from the German development bank KfW.
Interested entities have 45 days to submit proposals.
The deadline for implementation of the project is eight months.
