El Sewedy to vie for 500-MW wind farm project in Egypt - report

(ADPnews) - Apr 18, 2011 - Egypt-based El Sewedy Electric Co (CAI:SWDY), former El Sewedy Cables, will take part in a government tender for a 500-MW wind farm project, newspaper Al Mal writes, citing investor relations head Ahmed El Homosani.

The Egyptian government is to launch the tender procedure in May.

The project represents the first phase of a 1,000-MW wind farm development. The winner will build, own and operate the installation for 20 to 25 years, with the power output to be sold to the government.
