Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CEST(ADPnews) - Apr 27, 2011 - Egypt-based cable maker El Sewedy Electric Co (CAI:SWDY), as part of a consortium, has qualified to take part in a government tender for a 250-MW wind farm project in Egypt, newspaper Al Mal writes, citing CEO Ahmed El Sewedy.
A total of 10 consortia have qualified for the tender procedure, according to the paper. The project will be developed in the Zaafarana area.
El Sewedy has recently had to halt work on a 60-MW wind power project in Libya as a result of the military actions in the country.
Last week Al Mal reported that the company was also to bid for a 500-MW wind project in Egypt, the first phase of a 1,000-MW wind farm development. The Egyptian government is to launch the tender procedure in May.
