Castilla-La Mancha to prioritize renewable energy projects
Apr 17, 2018 10:50 CESTApril 4 (Renewables Now) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) may lend USD 150 million (EUR 140.5m) to support 330 MW of renewable energy projects in Peru developed by Enel Green Power SpA.
The loan was under appraisal as of April 3. It is to help finance the development, construction and operation of a wind farm, a solar photovoltaic (PV) park and hydropower plant (HPP) in Peru. The Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) subsidiary’s total investment in these projects is of about USD 380 million.
The projects are eligible for financing under the EIB's Climate Action and Environment Facility 2014-2020 and will contribute to its climate action lending objectives, the bank noted.
The EIB is also considering lending USD 40 million to Mexican development bank Nacional Financiera SNC, also known as NAFIN, to support the construction of a 199.5-MW wind park in Mexico.
