EDPR touches 30 TWh milestone in 2019

January 22 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) achieved 30 TWh of renewable power generation in 2019, up by 6% on the year.

Brazil achieved the highest increase in annual terms with 1,757 GWh produced, a 42% year-on-year growth, mainly on the back of excellent wind resource availability. In terms of productivity, the US was EDPR's top market with 15,696 GWh.

EDPR's output in Europe increased 3% to 11,791 GWh, while in North America the company recorded a 5% rise to 16,492 GWh.

At the end of December, EDPR had 1 GW of wind power capacity under construction, of which 330 MW are equity stakes in European offshore parks and 664 MW are onshore plants in Europe and the US.

The company closed last year with 11.4 GW of operational renewable power capacity, about 888 MW of those were wind and solar plants built in 2019.
