The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has extended the deadline for submitting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the 900-MW sixth phase of the emirate's Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park to November 1.
The invitation to interested investors was issued on October 8 with a very tight deadline -- until October 10.
The sixth phase of the mega project is scheduled for grid connection in stages between 2025 and 2027, DEWA said on Saturday.
When fully completed in 2030, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park will have a capacity of 5,000 MW. At present, the park's production capacity in operation is 1,727 MW from photovoltaic solar panels. Further projects totalling 1,133 MW from photovoltaic solar panels and concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies are being implemented currently.
