Colombian Valle del Cauca to produce 1.25m litres ethanol daily - report

(ADPnews) - Mar 7, 2011 - Colombian southwestern department of Valle del Cauca is seen to produce 1.25 million litres (330,200 gallons) per day as of 2011, home daily El Pais reported last week.
The increase from the current daily output of 1.05 million litres will come as a result of expansion works at the sugar refineries Mayaguez, Providencia and Incauca. Production will rise without increasing the plants' cane crops, which occupy about 200,000 ha (494,200 acres) along the Cauca River Valley.
The Valle del Cauca department has other sugar refineries, operating on its area, among which Manuelita and Risaralda.
