Chiyoda, Archimede Solar to develop CSP projects in MENA
(ADPnews) - Jun 20, 2011 - Japan's engineering and construction firm Chiyoda Corp (TYO:6366) and Italian Archimede Solar Energy (ASE) have agreed to jointly develop concentrated solar power (CSP) projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Under the agreement, the partners would cooperate in pursuing, promoting and implementing CSP power projects using molten salt receiver tubes, Chiyoda said in a statement today.
ASE, a unit of Angelantoni Industrie Group SpA, produces solar receiver tubes. The company specializes on receiver tubes for solar concentrating systems utilizing solar thermal technologies and molten salt-based heat transfer fluid.
Through the deal Chiyoda aims to enter the CSP plant market and develop power plants using ASE's molten salt CSP technology, it said.
